In this experimental paradigm, you will view two stimuli.
There are two versions of this experimental paradigm, and the stimuli will be different in the two cases (in parentheses, the second option).
One stimulus will be a series of Mondrian-like pictures (Common items) changing swiftly. Another Stimulus will be a slowly changing Gabor pattern (Bullseye pattern).
The two stimuli will be presented separately through a special device, one to each eye.
As a result, sometimes you will see the Mondrian-like pictures (Common items), and sometimes you will see (fully or partly) the Gabor pattern (Bullseye pattern).
You will have to report on the time you see the Gabor pattern (Bullseye pattern) by pressing a button whenever you perceive it).
In addition, during the presentation of the Mondrian-like pictures (Common items), a black-and-white (Butterfly) image will appear.
You will have to identify this black-and-white (butterfly) picture by pressing a second button.
If you fail to press the second button when the black-and-white (butterfly) picture appears, a short sound will be played after several seconds.
Naturally, in the movie in the link below, the Mondrian-like pictures and the Gabor pattern will appear in different locations since you do not see them via the tailored device.
